ARTISTIC RESIDENCY

CREATION, EXCHANGE AND AN INTERNATIONAL PERSPECTIVE
Each year, the Lleida Puppet Fair promotes a programme of artistic residencies aimed at companies and creators in the process of creation. A space to research, develop projects and share artistic processes in direct contact with professionals from the sector and with the Fair’s audiences.
In this edition, the programme takes on a special dimension with the organisation of two simultaneous residencies, the result of the collaboration between the Lleida Puppet Fair and the Festival International Casteliers in Montreal (Quebec). An exchange project that connects creators and territories, and is committed to internationalisation and artistic dialogue.
On the one hand, a creator from Lleida develops their residency in Canada; on the other, a Quebec artist carries out her residency in Lleida, creating a living bridge between both cultural contexts.

TWO PERSPECTIVES, TWO TERRITORIES, TWO RESIDENCIES
Marie-Ève Lefebvre
A Quebec artist undertaking a 28-day residency in Lleida during the month of May, coinciding with the celebration of the Puppet Fair. Her project explores visual languages and contemporary puppetry in dialogue with the local context and professionals in the region.

Òscar Ribes (Col·lectiu Instantropia)
An artist from Lleida who has completed a 28-day residency in Canada within the framework of Festival Casteliers. During his stay, he developed the project Les sabates de la Mare Tempesta, a puppetry and object theatre proposal with a strong visual and poetic dimension.

SPACE FOR CREATION AND ENCOUNTER
The residencies offer artists time, space and the right conditions for the research and development of their projects, while also giving them the opportunity to connect with other creators, programmers and sector professionals.
This creative process is also shared with the professionals accredited at the Fair within the framework of the 18th Technical Conferences.
