For yet another year, the Fair is committed to generating spaces for reflection, debate and presentations about the puppetry sector and to promote networking between professionals. In this edition, the Professional Activities will take place on Friday April 30th and all of them will in La Llotja.

For this new TTPforma organized by the TTP (Professional Association of All ages Theatre) and the Puppet Fair, we want to discuss about the freedom of expression in the Performing Arts sector. Thes theme concerns all of us.



Marcel Mauri de los Rios, is a historian and journalist who is currently vice president and, from the imprisonment of Jordi Cuixart, he is accidental spokerman of Òmnium Cultural.
He is doctor in communication and professor of the Department of Communication of the Pompeu Fabra University. He has also been a consultant for the ethics and communication department at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya. In 2007 he did the predoctoral research at the Sorbonne University in Paris and in 2010 he will carry out a postdoctoral research at the University of Columbia in New York. He has published articles and books on ethics of press and History of Journalism. In 2012 won the Joan Givanel i Mas award of the Institut d'Estudis Catalans for Social Communication.

Josep Giralt. Lleida’s Museum director. He have been woorking, for 40 years, in museology and heritag, with a long experience in cultural action and cooperation at the Mediterranean. As the museum director, he programmed the Tatxo Benet exhibition after it was censored at Arco.

Enric Pinyol, journalist, writter and teacher. He works in TV3 news. He had publised some tales. He is teacher of Jorunalism and Audiovisual Comunication at Lleida’s University. As a journalist he also suffers censorship, because he cannot use some word to talk about political prisoners.

Cristina Dejuan is a visual artist of Lleida. He learned graphic design and book arts in Lleida, Barcelona, Bristol and Paris. With his art explores feminism, sexuality and taboos. She likes to explore different creation techniques. Her art has been censored in some places because of the nudism. Then, there will be a discussion between the audience ant the speakers.

COFAE WORKSHOPS


The value of the brand
What is a brand for? How to create a brand in the performing arts and make it profitable

In collaboration with COFAE, a workshop will be given on the management of brands in the Performing Arts sector, emphasizing basic concepts related to the creation, management and use of brands, with practical examples, always trying to adapt them to the world of management in the performing arts. Subsequently, a debate will be opened with all the attendees, attending to examples and cases of the performing arts, as well as from other sectors and their possible transfer to the marqueting of the performing arts. Some good practices will be uncovered, and others will foreseeably be generated during the workshop.

Pedro Antonio Garía will impart the workshop. He is a managing partner of Itaca Alternative Consulting, a marketing and communication consultancy in which he has held, among others, the positions of Director of Communication, Director of Market Research and Director of Marketing of Coca-Cola Spain. He is a regular speaker at Master's degrees among others from the IED (European Institute of Design), MSMK (Madrid School of Marketing). Co- promoter of the Company Culture Forum.

Lanterns at night
The professional accompaniment methodology, applied to scenic projects

In collaboration with COFAE, a workshop will also be offered on the need for professional accompaniment in cultural projects.
Through this workshop it is intended to stimulate knowledge about what is an accompaniment to cultural projects and the need to set up offices or calls that affect these processes as a basis for the success of productions beyond the local level.
The workshop will be given by Roberto Ramos de León, Coordinator and teacher in the Master in Management of Policies and Cultural Projects of the University of Zaragoza. Content coordinator and person in charge of accompaniment in the expert course “Culture and development. Work in the cultural sector ”at the Universidat Jaume I. He has worked in several international cultural cooperation projects linked to the professionalization of cultural agents, where he has been responsible for accompaniment units.

The Puppet Fair team will welcome all the jury members. The will give them instructions about the Drac D’or awards. Around 20 people, Festival directors and programmers, will be in this jury.


MARTINA CASTELLS PRESENTATIONS


Study about ot the Puppet Theatre, Visual and Objects sector
This is the first study carried out in Spain on our sector (TTVO) that has revealed the most important characteristics, wealth and shortcomings of the profession in the entire ecosystem that surrounds it, companies, festivals, theaters, museums, construction workshops.

It is made up of two sections:
  1. The quantitative section, signed by José Luís Melendo, based on a total of 1.119 surveys answered to 9 different questionnaires, 2 common to the entire sector, and 7 specific depending on the different types of agents, in which 441 have participated agents, which represents 65% of the existing real census, with a confidence level of 95% and a margin of error of 4.89%;

  2. The qualitative section of the Study, signed by Toni Rumbau, is based on 19 in-depth interviews carried out with 20 professors from the sector.

TELL - Territori a Escena Lleida Association
It is an association in which there are some companies from Lleida. It was born in September 2020.

Visual Theatre and Puppets Creation Center of Catalonia
With two festivals and a stable puppet program with more than 190 annual performances, Can Ninot, the smalles theatre of Catalonia, has grown and is already working in two different municipalities: Sant Cugat and Hospitalet de Llobregat.

In the framework of its 10th Anniversary, they set up the Visual Theater and Puppet Creation Center, together with the Generalitat de Catalunya and the Hospitalet City Council, to respond to the need for continuous training for professionals and future professionals of the world of puppets and the need to have a space for stable and punctual residences for companies from our country.
