La Fira de Titelles, in collaboration with the Museum of Lleida, exhibits this collection to offer visitors the chance to take a tour of the world. A visual itinerary that becomes a journey through time and history through different parts of the planet and with which it is clear that puppetry art is rooted everywhere and is a point of union between cultures. Likewise, it is an exhibition that aims to highlight the great artistic, social and heritage interest of this art.
Puppet theater is a transversal art, linked to the performing arts, which uses puppets, dolls or manipulated and animated objects, which replace or complement the actor and actress, in the staging to tell stories.
Jordi Monserdà, founder of the Galiot Teatre company, professionally began his love affair with puppetry in 1994, creating and producing shows. In recent times he has specialized in the production of participatory installations for all audiences whose backbone is the theater of puppets and objects. For a few years, he has been collecting puppets with artistic and historical value from different cultures and countries. Currently it already has more than 400 pieces and this exhibition.
The Puppet Fair welcomes you to this visual journey. Put all the senses. Only in this way can you imagine how the puppets come to life and move, whose soul, without someone to manipulate them, remains asleep.
